Smoothies are the best, right? There are so many delicious smoothie flavors but this Banana Oat Smoothie ranks as one of my top favorites. Whenever I’m hankering for something sweet but not super fruity, this smoothie comes to the rescue. It’s like my knight in shining armor. Except, it’s in a glass, preferably with a straw and isn’t a person… otherwise I would be slurping up a knight, which is extremely gross. What was I saying? Oh yes, this smoothie is great for those of you, myself included, who have a sweet tooth but want to make healthier decisions more often than not.
Blendtec: How I love thee!
I have to take a moment to give credit, where credit is due. This Banana Oat Smoothie would not be possible without something very important to me. Namely, my trusty Blendtec. Never has there been a more noble and loyal kitchen appliance. This smoothie would never be what it is today without my trusty Blendtec. Here’s to you dear friend. May you continue to create delicious, velvety smoothies for years to come.
That was silly, but it’s all true. It seriously, blends so well! Who needs all those fancy, expensive smoothie places? I can make yummy smoothies in the comfort of my own home. Now, you’re probably wondering, “How did the Poor Doctor’s Wife afford such an expensive piece of kitchen equipment?” We saved up up for it. Wasn’t that anti-climatic? Also, we frequently use Fetch or Ibotta to get gift cards for some of our big purchases.

Banana Oat Smoothie
Equipment
- Blendtec
Ingredients
- 1 cup almond milk or cow's milk
- 1 Tbsp Honey
- 1 Frozen Banana
- ¼-½ tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp vanilla
- ¼ cup rolled oats
- 1-1½ cup ice
Instructions
- Combine the Almond milk or milk of your choice with the honey in your Blendtec or Blender and pulse a couple of times. Add the the rest of the ingredients except for the ice. I will often times try to break the frozen banana up a bit before placing it in my blender.
- Press the "smoothie" button on your Blendtec to combine all ingredients except for the ice. Or if you have a different blender, continue to blend until the big banana chunks are gone. The texture should be smooth.
- Add the ice and pulse until well incorporated. The ice will thicken the smoothie. Add more ice if needed but it may dilute the flavor if you add too much. Enjoy!

Hi Ashley, I tried the recipe today. Really liked it. I follow Weight Watchers (WW) and am always looking for good recipes like this one keeping points low. Since it is for two servings and bananas are 0 points with WW, I added another banana. I also substituted the honey with 2 tsp sugar and added 2 Tbsp of PB2 for more protein. Instead of 4 WW points it was 3. I forgot about the cinnamon so I will make sure not to forget it next time. Make it a great day! Your Aunt KimE loves you!
That’s awesome! Adding 2 bananas is great! I’m glad you could tweak it to make it even better to fit your tastes! Thanks for your support, it means so much!
We made this to go with our waffles this morning! A great addition to our breakfast. 👍
Yay! I’m so glad you liked it!
