This chicken is a great to grill when you are entertaining. Not only will the flavor knock your guests socks off but when Chicken thighs are on sale, this meal becomes pretty economical. This dinner is definitely one of our family favorites.

My Husband and his family introduced me to Korean food and for that I am forever blessed. Korean Food is so flavorful and those flavors are so unique. Truly, I can’t call myself an expert in Korean food, like my father in-law but I can say the first time I had this chicken, it knocked my socks off. It is really so good!

Korean Chicken is the New “BBQ Chicken”

Looking back on my childhood I remember eat BBQ at social gatherings. I loved eating chips, potato salad, and beans right along with the BBQ chicken. I love the Classics but it’s always fun to add a twist on a classic. Korean Chicken is that fun new twist. Just like BBQ sauce has a hint of sweetness to the spice, Korean Chicken similarly has that subtle sweetness. The Asian Flavors are so fresh, bold and perfect for Summer.

Korean Chicken Feeding a Crowd

It can be a great meal to serve to a crowd because grilling is pretty simple and also you serve it with rice and a few other sides. As a side note, this recipe can also be broiled in the oven but I highly recommend using the Grill. Another, aspect of Korean Chicken that works great with feeding a crowd, is that the chicken is served with rice. Whenever your meal has pasta or rice as part of the entré, you know you can stretch those “meal fillers” to accommodate a crowd. Korean Chicken or also known as Bulkogi is definitely a crowd pleaser.

Korean Chicken Side Dishes

The Side Dishes really make this Chicken. Korean Spinach Salad is lite and fresh and super simple to make. A little goes a long way which is good because this salad uses cooked spinach and it cooks down so much. Meaning, you think you have a whole heap spinach and then you cook it and looks like you only have an 1/8 of the amount you started with.

Korean Chicken (Bulkogi)

Ingredients

  • 8 Boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 bunch green onions shredded in long thin form
  • 5 Tbsp soy sauce
  • ¾ Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp apple juice
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • pepper to taste
  • Tbsp sesame seed Oil

Instructions

  • Set chicken aside. Mix all other ingredients in large pan/bowl. Then add the meat.
  • Let it set in room temperature for 2-5 hours. Then store in fridge for ½ to 3 days. Best if marinated for 24 hrs but not absolutely necessary. Cook on grill or broil. If you grill it, it will cook about 10minutes on one side and 7 minutes on the other.
